Beginning May 1, Trios Health’s mammography service will operate in its new location at the Trios Care Center at Southridge, located at 3730 Plaza Way in Kennewick. The mammography system—which includes advanced 3D imaging capability and will soon be enhanced to include mammography guided biopsy—will be relocated to the Care Center at Southridge from the Trios Care Center at Vista Field at 521 N. Young St. in Kennewick during the week beginning April 24. No scheduled appointments will be affected.
“The relocation of our mammography service to the Southridge campus is part of a series of ongoing efforts across Trios Health to centralize providers and services in ways that make sense,” said Trios Medical Group’s medical director Wassim Khawandi, MD. “Our continuous goal is to offer convenient access to a range of complementary services for our patients, while simultaneously maximizing operational efficiency.
“The majority of Trios Health’s world class suite of diagnostic imaging technologies already resides at the Southridge campus; the mammography system belongs there alongside it for this and many other reasons,” Khawandi said. “There has been space reserved at Southridge for mammography since the facilities were designed, so this has long been part of our plans for the future at this campus.”
In addition to commonly known imaging technologies, Southridge is home to breast MRI and ultrasound guided breast biopsy capabilities, which complement traditional and 3D mammography by enabling enhanced screening measures when an abnormal result occurs. Also located at the campus are Trios Medical Group surgeons, as well as a state-of-the-art surgery center, genetic counselor, and oncology specialists and services for those with a positive cancer diagnosis.
